AbstractThe following project takes as a general target to propose strategies that allow to strengthen the development of the basic competences in the students for the algorithms construction in the problems solution in the engineering programs in the CUC. Additionally there exist these specific targets that they will allow: To identify the factors that have come affecting in the processes of development of the mathematical logical thought that have not facilitated the algorithms construction for the problems solution on the part of the engineering students. To make possible the development of the mathematical logical thought in the students, to lead them in the enlargement of its cognitive capacity as for the solution of problems using algorithms. To prepare a pedagogic and methodological proposal tending to strengthen the processes of development of the logical thought and construction The used methodology was the qualitative one based on the paradigm associate - critic and using the ethnographic method. For the particular characteristics of the present project, there was used the ethnography, which is characterized basically by the use of the observation, for its naturalistic condition it uses the inductive route, the information appears contextualizados and free of values judgments. The conclusions and recommendations to which it went over were the following ones: To keep on encouraging the preparation to the students in the exploration of the thought, strengthening in them the development of ideas and solutions to the algorithms raised in class. Additionally, to reinforce the basic competences related to algorithms that allow to solve cases of the real life in order to facilitate a high labor performance to them to face labor challenges. Also to incorporate in the academic program a series of tutorships that strengthen the education - learning process. The teachers also must check and update its teaching practice and the same way the students must be encouraged in the search of the knowledge by means of significant learning and the investigation
