World Federation Of Exchanges - WFE. When analyzing the evolution of Capital Markets in Colombia, it is important to acknowledge not only its beginnings but its domestic and foreign expansion strategy: there first were Bogotá Stock Exchange, Medellin Stock Exchange and Cali’s Western Stock Exchange until Colombia’s Stock Exchange –BVC, by its initials in Spanish- was born in July 2001. But it is not until 2003 that our Capital Market becomes visible in terms of statistics to the World Federation of Exchanges -WFE–. Expansion processes and the regional consolidation such as the MILA (Integrated Market of Latin America) are the result of the economic, technological and corporate development of the country. The arrival of new issuers, both domestic and foreign, with fixed and variable income into BVC has been supporting corporative democratization and investment confidence in the financial and legal security framework to all agents of the Capital Market within the context of commerce agreements enhancing exponentially the foreign exchange market operated by the SET-FX (Electronic System of Transactions and Foreign Exchange Market information) of the BVC.
