Knowledge Management (KM) comprises a highly relevant aspect, not only regarding ac-counting matters, but also productive and competitive ones. This aspect is today recognized as Intellectual Capital (IC), and it has crossed the threshold of the financial field to become a valuable tool used in business and in the academic environment of modern organizations. This article pretends to analyze and recount the most updated and well-known KM and CI definitions and models. Through a theoretical construct and literature review, and by means of synthesis, compilation and documentary collection, the paper explores today ́s tendencies of the matter and gets to establish some successful cases of the issue within the academy world. La Gestión del Conocimiento (GC) abarca un aspecto de alta relevancia, no solo contable, sino también productivo y competitivo, el cual es denominado hoy día Capital Intelectual (CI). Dicho elemento ha traspasado la barrera de lo financiero para convertirse en una herramienta altamente utilizada en el medio empresarial y académico de las organizaciones modernas. En el presente artículo se hace un recuento, mediante un constructo teórico y bibliográfico de las definiciones y modelos más conocidos sobre el tema de GC y del CI, por medio de la síntesis, la compilación y la recopilación documental, llegando a establecer algunos casos exitosos de la temática a nivel de la academia Knowledge Management (CG) covers an aspect of high relevance, not only accounting, but also productive and competitive, which is today called Intellectual Capital (CI). This element has crossed the financial barrier to become a highly used tool in the business and academic environment of modern organizations. In the present article a recount is made, through a theoretical and bibliographic construct of the most known definitions and models on the subject of GC and IQ, by means of the synthesis, the compilation and the documentary compilation, arriving to establish some successful cases of the subject at the academy level
