The spatial distribution of metals in the water for consumption in the different supply sources, natural sources, family storage tanks and deep wells were studied. 16 samples were made for different municipalities belonging to the department of La Guajira upper part. The water samples were analyzed in 2016 and analyzed physically and chemically and microbiologically. The results were compared with national standards and those established by the WHO. The results found show some traces of metals in some of the sampling sites. The concentrations of Calcium, Magnesium exceeded the concentrations established by the standards. The results reinforce the need for better control of the physicochemical and microbiological parameters of the water consumed by the population.

Various national and international standards recommend potable water for mixing concrete; however, the availability of potable water is virtually a daunting task in some developing communities. Concrete workers in such environments tend to utilize any available water for mixing concrete, and this may be detrimental to the quality of the concrete being produced. This study investigates the rheological, mineralogical and strength variability of concrete due to construction water impurities. Water samples were collected from four different construction sites within Southwestern region of Nigeria for production of concrete. The physical and chemical properties of the waters were determined so as to measure their rate of contamination, prior to their use for mixing concrete. The rheological properties of the fresh concrete, compressive strength, split tensile strength, and microscale features of hardened concrete, that were produced with each water sample were determined. From the results, the rheological features of concrete were found not to be affected by water impurities, however, the mechanical test results revealed about 10% reduction in strength between concrete made with water having least and higher concentration of impurities. Also, it was evident from the microscale tests that the water impurities do alter the hydration rate of concrete, which results in strength reduction. The study suggests pretreatment of concrete mixing water before use in order to avoid its damaging effect on concrete life.

This article analyzes the status of compliance with "Resolución 0549 de 2015", which regulates the parameters of sustainable construction in buildings from Colombia, in terms of energy and water consumption. Compliance with these guidelines is in line with the sustainable development goals set out in the 2030 agenda, specifically with SDGs 11, 12 and 13. Thus, the analysis of the history of public policies, which have been in line with the certifications that exist or have existed at the international level, is envisioned. The analysis of buildings with sustainable construction certificates is carried out to verify their concordance with the parameters established in the Colombian regulations. Finally, a contrast is presented between the expectations set forth in the percentage of water and energy savings indicated by the government and the actual values executed. The results show that, the new projects that have been certified as sustainable buildings, more than 50% comply with the minimum percentages of reduction in water and energy consumption.
