The main objective of this capstone project is to formulate a proposal for bioclimatic criteria for urban design in cities with tropical climates, taking the city of Barranquilla, Colombia as a case study. A proposal of bioclimatic criteria of urban design whose premise is aimed at the urban thermal comfort of individuals in cities with tropical climates. The research is applied and exploratory, structured in three phases. The first phase begins with the review of projects and studies related to the topic: bioclimatic urbanism, urban design and urban thermal comfort from the effects of the microclimate of a city. The second phase includes the realization of virtual simulations of certain selected spaces in the city of Barranquilla, as a case study. Spaces that meet certain conditions and relevant characterization parameters in urban design. This simulation process will seek an approach to the importance of the proper use of the microclimate in urban design, establishing the relationship of these parameters with the urban conditions of a city. The third and final phase is the formulation of the proposal of bioclimatic criteria for urban design in cities with tropical climates.
