Abstract
This study is framed within the project "Construction of an indicator of ecosystem environmental quality in the tourist beaches of the Colombian North Caribbean" ICAPTU, the research consists of the evaluation of Environmental Quality based on Microplastics, Solid Waste in Sand and Waste Floating solids from the beaches of Caño Dulce and Puerto Velero, in the department of Atlántico. According to methodology provided by ICAPTU. The Ecosystem Environmental Quality (EAC) can obtain values between zero (0) and one (1). In this sense, the level of affectation or threat in which the beach ecosystem is found can be considered when assigning a Final Evaluation Grade (Grade A: Excellent, Grade B: Good, Grade C: Acceptable, Grade D: Fair and Grade E: Bad). Consequently, monitoring was carried out in the months of July, October, 02 and September 30 of the year 2018, according to the results obtained, it was found that the Ecosystemic Environmental Quality (EAC) based on the parameter Microplastics in sand is "bad" for the Caño Dulce and Puerto Velero beaches, depending on the solid waste parameter (sand), Caño Dulce beach has a bad EAC with a rating E, while Puerto Velero beach shows a regular EAC with a rating grade D, the floating solid waste parameter, obtained values greater than one (1) for the beaches of Caño Dulce and Puerto Velero, the above is directly related to the Grade of Assessment of CAE Excellent. Finally, these parameters provide an analysis tool for the management measures that must be determined against the sources that are identified as generating waste.
