Afectaciones en la salud mental en niños y niñas expuestos a violencia de pareja: una revisión sistemática
Abstract
The psychological impact on children exposed to intimate partner violence has been recognized as a psychosocial, educational, and public health problem (Geffner, Griffin, & Lewis III. 2008). For this reason, the present study aims to carry out an analytical bibliographic review about the psychological affectation in children due to exposure to intimate partner violence, in order to state which with the consequences generated by this phenomenon. The method used was a retrospective systematic review, in Spanish and English, which should be understood or covered between 2002 and 2020. The assessment assigned was qualitative, dichotomously, with ratings of "yes" or "no", depending on the presence or absence of the criteria. As a result, a total of 12 articles were obtained, which detect a higher incidence of internalizing problems, that is, psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, withdrawal, post-traumatic stress disorder and sleep problems). Therefore, it is concluded that children who live exposed to intimate partner violence, also suffer or present some symptoms associated with psychosocial problems such as hyperactivity, disruptive behavior and aggressiveness.
