The research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the physical-mechanical and chemical behavior of mortar mixtures for masonry, partially replacing the fine aggregate (Santo Tomás sand) with crushed iron oxide obtained at the Universidad de la Costa, which came from metallic beams from the facade of the laboratory building, at the percentages of 10%, 12% and 15% and a traditional mixture as a reference point. Eight mortar cubes of 125 cm3 volume each were made, i.e., a total of 32 mortar cubes were used in the investigation. The mixtures in plastic state were tested for flowability, while in hardened state they were submitted to the compressive strength test at 7, 14 and 28 days of curing; in addition, the mortar samples were analyzed using SEM-EDS Scanning Electron Microscopy. Finally, it was found that the best mechanical behavior at 28 days of curing, the 15% substitution mixture reached a resistance of 33.60 MPa; followed by the 12% mixture that reached a resistance of 27.07 MPa; while the traditional and the 10% percentage mixtures reached similar resistances of 25.77 MPa and 25.70 MPa, respectively

A reliable and continuous electrical service is essential for the development and well-being of communities, which is why preventive maintenance work is carried out daily without interrupting the electrical supply. Hand in hand with investments aimed at modernizing electrical infrastructure, which includes the installation of new reclosers, it is important to optimally manage this equipment to take full advantage of the advantages they offer. In the company under study, a deficiency was observed in its internal procedure regarding the request, approval and execution of scheduled works in voltage at a level of 13.8 kV. It has been found that there is no specification of the reclosing scheme of the reclosers that have an impact on the work areas. when starting work, the reclosing of all the reclosers associated with the circuits involved in the work is deactivated. the jobs. The company has downplayed the impact that this condition may have on quality indicators and on the community it serves, therefore, this research first aims to demonstrate the consequences of this deficiency in the provision of electric energy service, and additionally propose applicable improvements with the objective of mitigating the exposed effects. This research focuses on analyzing indicators linked to failures at 13.8 kV, establishing the classification between these failures and reclosing management and evaluating the general impact on service quality indicators during scheduled live work. With the proposals to improve the management of reclosing of reclosers during scheduled live work, the aim is not only to comply with regulations and standards, but also to improve the quality of electrical service for the community served by the company. This strategic approach not only benefits businesses in terms of operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, but also directly contributes to the well-being and trust of end users

The dynamic behavior of the hydraulic actuator in a system for regulating the electrode's position is crucial for the operation of a Ladle Furnace. This work aims to identify, model, and control the hydraulic actuator in the Ladle Furnace of ACINOX Las Tunas. For identifying the system, input signals of Pseudo-Random Binary type and black box models were used. As a result, three models were obtained, two reflecting the process's asymmetric behavior according to the upward or downward movement. The third model approximates the process dynamic behavior around the operating point and includes the uncertainty caused by the weight variation during the electrode wear. The models obtained, with a fit greater than 85%, allow a better understanding of the study case behavior. In addition, these allowed the evaluation of the electrode's weight variation and tuning of several controllers. The optimal one was a novel non-linear PI controller of guaranteed robustness. In future works, the use of a non-linear function could be evaluated to compensate for the asymmetric behavior of the process.

The field of organizational studies has undergone significant transformations in the 21st century, initially focused on business structure and management to maximize effectiveness and performance. Currently there is talk of Industry 5.0, which seeks to integrate technologies such as the collective network of connected devices, cognitive computing, nanotechnology, robotization, artificial intelligence and digitization of human processes. This research seeks to analyze the trends in knowledge of organizations, through a post-positivist approach based on empirical observation and experimentation to assess the study variable, select contemporary scientific literature, and review legal foundations, using databases of high impact and scientific rigor. The results are oriented by the strategic management of knowledge and intellectual assets, innovation and creativity, technology, and information. It is concluded that these are influenced by the requirements of the environment with a sustainable and sustainable approach, it is imperative to adapt to these trends to maintain a holistic perspective to ensure the permanence in time of organizations in the face of dynamic market changes.

Background. Human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is still among the leading causes of disease burden and mortality in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), and the world is not on track to meet targets set for ending the epidemic by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Precise HIV burden information is critical for effective geographic and epidemiological targeting of prevention and treatment interventions. Age- and sex-specific HIV prevalence estimates are widely available at the national level, and region-wide local estimates were recently published for adults overall. We add further dimensionality to previous analyses by estimating HIV prevalence at local scales, stratified into sex-specific 5-year age groups for adults ages 15–59 years across SSA. Methods. We analyzed data from 91 seroprevalence surveys and sentinel surveillance among antenatal care clinic (ANC) attendees using model-based geostatistical methods to produce estimates of HIV prevalence across 43 countries in SSA, from years 2000 to 2018, at a 5 × 5-km resolution and presented among second administrative level (typically districts or counties) units. Results. We found substantial variation in HIV prevalence across localities, ages, and sexes that have been masked in earlier analyses. Within-country variation in prevalence in 2018 was a median 3.5 times greater across ages and sexes, compared to for all adults combined. We note large within-district prevalence differences between age groups: for men, 50% of districts displayed at least a 14-fold difference between age groups with the highest and lowest prevalence, and at least a 9-fold difference for women. Prevalence trends also varied over time; between 2000 and 2018, 70% of all districts saw a reduction in prevalence greater than five percentage points in at least one sex and age group. Meanwhile, over 30% of all districts saw at least a five percentage point prevalence increase in one or more sex and age group. Conclusions. As the HIV epidemic persists and evolves in SSA, geographic and demographic shifts in prevention and treatment efforts are necessary. These estimates offer epidemiologically informative detail to better guide more targeted interventions, vital for combating HIV in SSA.
