The process of economic transformation that Colombia is experiencing , and
therefore the department of the Atlantic with free trade , demand for productive
business organizations , financial and organizational strength , which are important

Atlantic (2010), the engineering sector has generally maintained a growing
dynamic, with a share of GDP between 20 and 22% during that period. With regard
to the dynamics of non-ferrous metal foundries industry, information provided by
the companies surveyed said that over the past 10 years, the sector has
decreased because many companies have closed or have reduced their
production levels
The engineering sector constitutes one of the most important in the economy of the
city of Barranquilla and the Department of the Atlantic, represented in more than
1,700 production units dedicated to the development of these activities.
