Technology is one of the engines that drive the technological development of a
country; it has generated changes in social schemes, specially, in the education of the
engineering.
In the education field, some teaching techniques have remained in traditional
methods and not all people have adapted themselves to the change brought about by the use
of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). That is why at the global level,
projects have been developed to establish a closeness between these two important
elements: Technology and Education in Engineering, through immersive and collaborative
virtual environments.
On the other hand, although researches and works related to the use of ICTs and
immersive virtual environments in engineering education are found. They predominate in
the implementation of different technologies without evaluating the effects they produce in
the teaching of engineering and in a few other cases the technology is implemented and it is
observed if the concept was acquired, but it is not evaluated what effects can exert on the
individual in the development of skills or competences.
Therefore, this research work is aimed at developing an immersive virtual
environment that allows study the effects of ICT on the competences, in this case, the
Electronic Engineer, through evaluations through technological tools, thereby promoting a
change in the paradigm of the development of immersive virtual environments and its
impact on the evaluation of skills in the training of future engineers.
