Climate change is one of the problems facing society today because of its impacts on the health of living beings. That is why the authorities need tools that provide them with the information necessary to make decisions that will reduce the impact of such change. This paper proposes a strategy to group the air quality data of the metropolitan area of the City of Bogotá from 2014 to 2018, in order to recognize the measurement patterns in the environmental contaminants that cause pre-contingencies and environmental contingencies in the area of the City of Bogotá.

Uno de los objetivos dentro del PND (Colombia) y los planes departamentales y distritales (Atlántico, Barranquilla) es desarrollar proyectos que apunten al desarrollo productivo y competitivo de las regiones. Dentro de esta línea de trabajo la consolidación de ciudades logísticas emergentes y de empresas sostenibles. Según la Encuesta Nacional de Logística (ENL, 2018) solo el 69,1 % de las empresas calculan su costo logístico. Del total de empresas que miden su costo logístico, el promedio nacional reportado para este indicador como porcentaje de las ventas llega al 13,5%. El costo logístico está compuesto principalmente por el costo de almacenamiento, con un 46,5 % de participación; y el costo de transporte, con 35,2 %. Estos rubros representan el 81,7 % del costo logístico total. Lo anterior indica que en Colombia, específicamente en Barranquilla no existen estudios previos relacionados con indicadores logísticos asociados a ciudades logísticas emergentes y organizaciones sostenibles. La presente investigación busca proponer soluciones innovadoras y sostenibles para la ciudad y las empresas que están ubicadas en su área metropolitana, haciendo uso de las herramientas de la gestión de operaciones y la inteligencia de negocio. El proyecto propuesto engloba 3 etapas: 1) Construcción del estado del arte y la revisión bibliográfica a través de una investigación documental, haciendo uso de herramientas de visualización científica, 2) Caracterización de los sistemas, procesos, actores de cadena de suministro, portadores energéticos investigados a través de investigaciones descriptivas, correlacionadas y estudios de caso, y 3) Diseño de propuestas y estrategias de mejora a partir del uso de las herramientas de la gestión de operaciones y la inteligencia de negocios.

This paper presents a methodological approach that enables reducing design times through parametric analysis and computerized tools. It also describes a case study using the proposed methodology. Technical-economic benefits are presented for the substitution of the bottle's material from PET to ABS over the bottle's life cycle. It was identified that the global carbon footprint of ABS is smaller (0.07 kg CO2e) than that of PET (0.096 kg CO2e) in the manufacture of water bottles. However, in water euritrification there is a negative ratio of 0.4 kg.

This study presents a comparative analysis of the management of innovation among family and non-family companies of the Graphic Communication Industry in Colombia. From this, the methodology of Generalized Linear Models (MLG) was used and the Bayesian inference was used on the parameters of the model, analyzing the effect of the family business, the products that commercialize on the management of innovation in goods observed as a product tangible Obtaining in this way, the identification of some characteristics of innovation management and divergences with non-family companies, among them: a tendency towards the type of preferred innovation, the different sources and objectives to innovate, and the factors that hinder its process of innovation.

El objetivo del trabajo presentado, fue describir el comportamiento del sector hotelero de Cartagena de Indias, analizando la importancia del tamaño de los hoteles frente a cada tipo de innovación entre los años 2008- 2014. Para el desarrollo del estudio, se hace uso de una metodología descriptiva de carácter correlacional. Se encuentra un vínculo de dependencia entre la innovación y su campo de gestión. Esto es la identificación de acciones formativas sobre actividades innovadoras como variable dependiente del tamaño de las organizaciones. Dentro de los resultados del estudio, se evidencia que la variable tamaño no se constituye como determinante cuando los hoteles objeto de estudio incorporen procesos de innovación tecnológica, de producto, de procesos, o de mercado de forma interna. Sin embargo, en el caso de los procesos de innovación externa, los pequeños hoteles, tienen una baja participación con relación a los medianos y a los grandes hoteles.

Applications based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) have been developed thanks to the advance of the technological progress which has permitted the development of sales forecasting on consumer products, improving the accuracy of traditional forecasting systems. The present study compares the performance of traditional models against other more developed systems such as ANN, and Support Vector Machines or Support Vector Regression (SVM-SVR) machines. It demonstrates the importance of considering external factors such as macroeconomic and microeconomic indicators, like the prices of related products, which affect the level of sales in an organization. The data was collected from a group of supermarkets belonging to the SMEs sector in Colombia. At first, a pre-processing was carried out to clean, adapt and standardize data bases. Then, since there was no labeled information about the pairs of substitute or complementary products, it was necessary to implement a cross-elasticity analysis. In addition, a harmonic average (f1-score) was considered at several points to establish priorities in some products and obtained results. The model proposed in this study shows its potential application in the product sales forecasting with high rotation in SMEs supermarkets since their results are more accurate than those obtained using traditional procedures.

Reverse logistics is responsible for the return of materials to the production process to be reused, recycled, remanufactured, or have an environmentally correct final destination. Every year, civil construction generates a large volume of waste that can be recovered through reverse logistics. The performance evaluation of these activities is necessary for managers to know the real efficiency and effectiveness of their actions and to avoid unnecessary expenses and losses. However, this activity is still not widely practiced in developing countries, such as Brazil and Colombia. This research aims to propose a model for the evaluation of LR performance in civil construction to assist the practice of return activities in developing countries. Initially, a bibliographic search was performed to find indicators for the model. The reverse flow in the civil construction was mapped based on works published in Brazil and Colombia. From this mapping, a 12 indicators model was elaborated to approach supply logistics, internal logistics operations, and the waste management of the construction companies, in order to evaluate the performance of this sector. Also, these indicators were prioritized through the AHP method. With this prioritization, it is possible to know which indicator deserves greater attention from managers when implementing improvements. As a way to demonstrate applicability, the model was applied in a Brazilian company and other Colombian companies. It was noticeable that the Brazilian company does not have much control of its operations because it was not possible to calculate five indicators of the model due to lack of information, whereas in the Colombian company, only one indicator was not calculated due to lack of information. When analyzing the results obtained, the model provides useful data for the managers when demonstrating where the company is reaching its goals and where improvements in the process are necessary. Both companies have improving their performance in the green purchasing indicator as a priority. Both sets targets that were not met for this indicator, and according to the prioritization made by AHP, this is the point that deserves special attention from both companies. Improvement points deserve special attention from both companies. Therefore they were highlighted for each one of them and also for the model so that it could be applied in other organizations in the sector.

This paper discusses a strategy for establishing an energy consumption baseline for the effects of defining and applying new strategies to improve the effectiveness of energy savings measures. Through this analysis, the energy baseline is adjusted to the dynamics of a typical operation, reducing uncertainty about operating data when it is not possible to determine that a given energy consumption level is typical. The strategy enables focusing efforts on the points in the operation with greatest impact on energy efficiency as a function of frequency of operation.

This research focuses on determining the potential of biogas generation for combustion from the Zungo pig manure (manure mixture of the three sizes of the pig in a proportion of 33.33% for each size) located in the department of the Atlantic-Colombia. The properties of the biogas obtained were evaluated with a gas analyzer and a chromatograph, demonstrating that, under controlled temperature conditions, after the bio digestion of Zungo pig manure there is a methane content greater than 50%, which is acceptable demonstrating that this biogas is flammable. It was also established that there is a correlation between pH and methane content in biogas, so it is required to control it in the process.

In Colombia, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the most powerful engines of economic development, since they generate a high volume of jobs in the national territory, while diversifying productive, commercial, and service activities. In order to propose a model for logistics management as a component for the competitiveness of SMEs, a qualitative study is proposed that will allow us to collect from a structured review of recent literature, identifying the elements to be taken into account for logistics management in order to provide timely support and open space for continuous improvement. The proposed model is structured in six main blocks: characterization of processes according to the activity of the SME, external factors of influence, internal factors of influence, feeding of information, monitoring and control of operations, and feedback between support areas. The above elements have been analyzed and suggested taking into account the specific aspects of SMEs in the country, and taking into account the peculiarities of these small productive cells.
