Disorder Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is recognized as one of the pathologies of high prevalence in children and adolescents from the global environment population; this disorder generates visible symptoms usually diminish with the passage of time in adulthood, however they remain concealed by demonstrations damnifican personal stability and human development apt. This article shows the results of the research aimed at determining the prevalence of symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in Young Adults University of Barranquilla and its Metropolitan Area. The sample of 1600 young adults between 18 and 25 years, which has been estimated at 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 2.44%. The information was acquired through the application of exploratory instruments symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. With the application of the algorithm different machine learning algorithms such as: Bagging, MultiBoostAB, DecisionStump, LogitBoost, FT, J48Graft, a high performance in the Bagging algorithm could be identified with the following results in quality metrics: Accuracy 91.67%, Precision 94.12%, Recall 88.89% and F-measure 91.43%.

Cancer is a constantly evolving disease, which affects a large number of people worldwide. Great efforts have been made at the research level for the development of tools based on data mining techniques that allow to detect or prevent breast cancer. The large volumes of data play a fundamental role according to the literature consulted, a great variety of dataset oriented to the analysis of the disease has been generated, in this research the Breast Cancer dataset was used, the purpose of the proposed research is to submit comparison of the J48 and randomforest, NaiveBayes and NaiveBayes Simple, SMO Poli-kernel and SMO RBF-Kernel classification algorithms, integrated with the Simple K-Means cluster algorithm for the generation of a model that allows the successful classification of patients who are or Non-recurring breast cancer after having previously undergone surgery for the treatment of said disease, finally the methods that obtained the best levels were SMO Poly-Kernel + Simple K-Means 98.5% of Precision, 98.5% recall, 98.5% TPRATE and 0.2% FPRATE. The results obtained suggest the possibility of using intelligent computational tools based on data mining methods for the detection of breast cancer recurrence in patients who had previously undergone surgery.

This research work is aimed at strengthening the resources that farmers have for crops management of pests and diseases in a digital way using internet of things through the development of a prototype. It can obtain important information of variables within a strawberry crop such as Relative Humidity, temperature and pH. These data are processed and received by means of protocols in real time. These devices allow managing the information of different variables through communication among sensors. This study presents the most critical characteristics of the strawberry by using the data collection of an IoT system. In this way the initial results can demonstrate that the system yields important information for the appropriate management of strawberry crop production.

Research into assisted living environments –within the area of Ambient Assisted Living (ALL)—focuses on generating innovative technology, products, and services to provide medical treatment and rehabilitation to the elderly, with the purpose of increasing the time in which these people can live independently, whether they suffer from neurodegenerative diseases or disabilities. This key area is responsible for the development of activity recognition systems (ARS) which are a valuable tool to identify the types of activities carried out by the elderly, and to provide them with effective care that allows them to carry out daily activities normally. This article aims to review the literature to outline the evolution of the different data mining techniques applied to this health area, by showing the metrics used by researchers in this area of knowledge in recent experiments.

This article contains methods, results, and analysis agreed for the development of an application based on the internet of things and making use of machine learning techniques that serves as a support for the identification of the saline wedge in the Magdalena River estuary, Colombia. As a result of this investigation, the process of identifying the most suitable telecommunications architecture to be installed in the estuary is shown, as well as the characteristics of the software developed called SISME (Estuary Monitoring System), and the results obtained after the implementation of prediction techniques based on time series. This implementation supports the maritime security of the port of Barranquilla since it can support decision-making related to the estuary. This research is the result of the project “Implementation of a Wireless System of Temperature, Conductivity and Pressure Sensors to support the identification of the saline wedge and its impact on the maritime safety of the Magdalena River estuary”.

The Web Technologies allow a representation of a domain of knowledge. This facilitates the conversion of an explicit and tacit knowledge to the possibility of adding knowledge to the Web for automatic processing by the computer. For this reason, it has been designed to be an architecture known as SSwWS (Search Semantic with Web Services) or Search Semantic Web Services, to show how to extend the functionality of the Web search and semantic raised by Berners-Lee, on the meta-references, defined in a Web ontology, so that a user on the Internet can find the answers to their questions through Web services in a simple and fast.

The systems of livestock production contribute in a preponderant way to improve the quality of life of the communities, since it allows to support the production of the daily sustenance of the communities, to conserve the ecosystems, to promote the conservation of the wild life and to satisfy the values and traditions cultural Latin America, with its large wilderness areas, and a privileged climate favors the maintenance of livestock, to meet the demands of food and ensure regional and global food security. In Colombia, the agricultural sector contributes approximately 11.83% of the national GDP at current prices, according to the Bank of the Republic. Likewise, the livestock industry participates with 3.6%, in comparison with other sectors of the agricultural economy, the production of Colombian cattle doubles and triples to other sectors, such as poultry, coffee and floriculture. In addition, it contributes to the generation of employment in more than 25% of the total jobs generated in the agricultural sector and approximately 7% of the total employment of the Colombian economy (http://www.banrep.gov.co/is/pib). Within agricultural production, livestock occupy 38 million hectares, being 9 times larger than the area dedicated to agriculture. However, agriculture contributes 63% of the value of agricultural production, while livestock, mainly extensive, contributes 26% (FEDEGAN, Strategic Livestock Plan 2019). The large proportion of the área with agricultural vocation dedicated to precarious extensive livestock has explained the low agricultural productivity in Colombia, with very serious consequences for human and sustainable development. This document shows the results of the communications, software and hardware platforms to help the livestock sector to manage production.
