In the present investigation, the rigidity parameter, defined as the positive or negative contrast of the constructions or civil works present on the beaches, was applied to four (4) beaches in the department of Atlántico, which can alter the functioning of the ecosystem as satisfactory of the leisure and recreation needs. In this order, the rigidity perceived by the users and residents of the beaches, and the actual stiffening of these, were determined, also analyzing the environmental impacts associated with each of the beaches. As for the perceived stiffening, 74.1% feel benefited by the infrastructure of the beaches, 16.6% feel affected and the remaining 9.3% feel indifferent to such a situation. The case of real stiffening showed that only one (1) of the four (4) beaches is naturally disturbed and the remaining three (3) are minimally stiffened. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of the stiffening parameter is valid to evaluate levels of environmental impact on beach landscapes and also the level of satisfaction of beach users, as long as it is a complement to the Quality Index. El presente documento proporciona una visión del ecoturismo, resaltando la relación existente entre el turismo y la sostenibilidad. En este sentido, el objetivo de la investigación consistió en proponer estrategias para la promoción de prácticas sostenibles en cinco sitios turísticos en el departamento del Atlántico. Estos sitios fueron identificados y seleccionados teniendo en cuenta su disposición y actividad: 1) Terra Verde Ecocamping 2) El Cielo Ecohotel 3) Piedra Pintada 4) El Lago del Cisne y 5) Bocas de Ceniza, en los cuales se caracterizaron las principales actividades, se identificaron los impactos ambientales y socioculturales. Se aplicaron 125 encuestas a usuarios y actores de la actividad turística, de lo cual se derivó un análisis estadístico por medio del coeficiente de Pearson, que permitió medir el nivel de asociación por parte de los usuarios con respecto a diferentes componentes del turismo sostenible. Además, para la generación de estrategias se incluyó la definición y análisis de los elementos interdisciplinarios relacionados con el turismo sostenible, junto con la revisión de otros estudios e investigaciones sobre el tema a nivel nacional e internacional, y de la normativa relacionada con el turismo en Colombia. Finalmente, de la presente investigación se puede concluir que, el departamento del Atlántico presenta alto potencial como destino de turismo de naturaleza, el cual debe ser aprovechado y gestionado desde la planificación estratégica sostenible, con la integración y participación de los diferentes actores involucrados.

The present investigation evaluated the potential risks that the community of the El Pueblito neighborhood has., due to its proximity to Arroyo León. A risk assessment was developed according to the historical flood events that the area presented, for this the social perception of the inhabitants was determined, the hydraulic and hydrological characteristics with which the canal was designed and the potential threats together with the elements at risk, to classify its associated level; in addition to the consequent environmental impacts. Social perception was knew through surveys, where information was gathered that estimated the perception of some inhabitants regarding the issue of channel overflow. The elements of the hydraulic section of the canal were determined from experimental and theoretical values, where the result of these obtained the approximate design flow. The hydrological study was based on secondary information on the basins located in the Atlántico department, for the study those drainage systems were delimited where there was interaction with the georeferenced space and thus understand the drainage trend for the sub-basin under study, which corresponded to the from Arroyo León. From the risk assessment was considered a series of threats of which there is a record in the department of Atlántico, based on a checklist, those present in the area will be identified. The list of elements at risk was determined based on the degree of impact that these will suffer when threatening events occurs, for which an emphasis was placed on those that have a direct and indirect relationship with the channel. The research carried out will probably determine simultaneously the environmental effects caused by the risks shown, where anthropic causes were highlighted.

In the present work, the evaluation of a material from oyster shells called coral rock was carried out: (Coquina), as a bioadsorbent for the removal of dye in wastewater from the textile industry. Said material was taken to different particle diameters (300 um and less than 300 um) and subsequently thermally modified using drying at 120°C and calcination at temperatures between 200°C and 800°C, to later be analyzed through different characterization techniques. To evaluate the removal capacity, as well as the adsorption kinetics of the bioadsorbent, mountings were made in the laboratory using the brilliant green dye. For the above, dye concentrations of 25, 50 and 75 mg/L, pH between 2 and 12 and doses of bioadsorbent material between 0.2 and 0.6 g/L, with constant agitation, were evaluated. Aliquots were taken from each experiment at different time intervals to which absorbance measurement was performed at a wavelength of 640 nm for the subsequent determination of the dye concentration at each instant of time and determination of the percentage and capacity of removal. Subsequently, a sweep was carried out through various types of kinetic models in order to select the one that presented a better fit to the experimental results, the Pseudo second order model being selected. Finally, the coquina rock was selected as the best material at a temperature of 120ºC and with a diameter greater than 300 um, with which a removal percentage of 90% was obtained in a given time between 15 and 20 minutes at pH 7. The above allows to conclude that coquina rock is a viable and easily accessible bioadsorbent material for dye removal in textile wastewater.
