Various authors have corroborated that the COVID-19 crisis can develop or consolidate mental disorders, this health crisis has created harsh economic, social and health difficulties throughout the world, creating different attitudes in people and especially in students due to the changes implemented in educational institutions. The objective of this study is to analyze the levels of emotional regulation and coping strategies in university students during the COVID-19 health emergency. To this end, the research question is the following: ¿What are the emotional regulation indices and coping strategies in university students during the year 2020? In this context, despite the fact that this crisis is leaving behind a host of questions regarding the future of education, we are not far from the educational landscape changing, what is relevant is the direction in which they arise said changes. To achieve the proposed objective, the non-experimental quantitative empirical analytical paradigm was chosen, with the participation of 200 students from different Colombian universities (61.8% women and 38.2% men), aged between 18 and 45 years. , through the application of the instrument (ERQ Emotional Regulation Questionnaire; Cabello, et al, 2013 and Coping Strategies Scale - modified (EEC-M) Londoño, et al, 2006) which evaluated control of emotions during the pandemic and coping of the problems or stressful situations that students face in life.

Education for years has focused more on the intellect, forgetting the emotional part of children and young people, that is why this study aimed to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance, in the district educational institution Antonio José de Sucre, in which certain situations were observed that showed the lack of emotional intelligence of children when solving a problem, for which there was an incidence in the results of academic performance. This was evidenced through an observation of classes and an interview that was applied to the teachers. The project contains all the information and actions carried out through the development of each chapter, each one of the proposed objectives was met. The methodology used in this research is framed in a complementary approach of a rationalistic-deductive nature, using a non-experimental design, for the data collection of this research questionnaire instruments and technical sheets are used and the results were obtained through the documentary analysis and questionnaire techniques, in order to answer the problem question formulated at the beginning of this research, there was a population of 31 students of the fifth grade of primary school Antonio José de Sucre. Through the results and their respective analysis, it can be concluded that this research has been relevant, since it demonstrated the importance of emotional intelligence in the academic performance of students and how it influences both positively and negatively and not only academically but also in the daily life of each one of them. That is why it is important to educate children from a very young age, since at this age they are capable of absorbing the learning proposed in any activity like a sponge. The school must further enhance emotional intelligence if our objective is to educate young people capable of recognizing and regulating their own emotions.

This research had the objective to relate emotional regulation with cyberbullying in adolescents between 10 and 17 years old during confinement for COVID-19, in Barranquilla. A nonexperimental quantitative study was carried out, cross-sectional and descriptive-comparative scope. The sample consisted of 130 students, chosen by an intentional non-probability sampling, who were applied the European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire adapted to Colombia ECIP-Q (Herrera et. al, 2017) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale DERS (Muñoz et. al, 2016). The results show that 51.5% of the participants have been involved in cyberbullying behaviors, evidencing presence of the phenomenon. Likewise, it was found that 32.3% of the students presented a medium level of difficulties in emotional regulation and 13.8% a high difficulty. In addition, it is highlighted that there is a statistically significant correlation between cyberbullying and emotional regulation, indicating that students who have been involved in cyberbullying situations also presented difficulties in regulating their emotional states.
