This study presents the evolution and economic development of the global market for absorption refrigeration systems. The article reviews trends in demand for high and low-power absorption refrigeration systems. High growth potential was found in low-power absorption refrigeration systems in the global market. An important finding is that the most widely installed systems in the world are those of single effect and double effect, due to their cost/benefit ratio. It also reviews the relations and trends of companies that manufacture this technology.

Traditional time series methods offer models whose parameters remain constant over time. However, industrial supply and demand processes require timely decisions based on a dynamic reality. A change in configuration, turning off, or on a production line or process, modifies the problem and the variables to be predicted. Decision support systems must dynamically adapt in order to respond quickly and appropriately to operations and their processes. This methodology is based on obtaining, for each period, the model that best fits the data, evaluating many alternatives and using statistical learning techniques. In this way, the model will adapt to the data in practice and make decisions based on experience. With three months of testing for the estimation of variables associated with supply and demand processes, predictions that differ less than 8 hundredths (less than 0.08) or 0.1% of the measured value were obtained. This indicates that data science and statistical learning represent an important area of research for variable prediction and process optimization.

Profitability is one of the most important marketing objectives in a company, so estimating and detecting in advance what a customer will purchase from a defined product portfolio is an important factor. Considering that the company under study maintains a large number of customers and has no clear methodologies for estimating future sales, purpose of the research is to develop a predictive model to detect the sales behavior of a specific customer. For the development of the model, the CRISP-DM method was followed and SPSS was used for variable prediction and exploration. Two predictive models were generated with data mining algorithms from which the one that offered the most reliable results was selected. From the obtained results, special sales campaigns were generated, focusing on those customers and/or products that are most likely to be purchased according to the predictive model.
