The objective of this research was to analyze the impact of corporate governance on the durability of family businesses in the city of Barranquilla. The study was carried out from a mixed research approach, better known as qualitative and quantitative, with descriptive correlational and correlational study, non-experimental transectional design whose population consisted of 6 leading companies in the sectors: Large Stores, Steel, Furniture, Transportation and Innovation in agroindustrial machinery and pharmaceuticals. The information collection technique used was the survey, which consisted of 57 Likert-type scale items. The collected data were processed through descriptive statistics and correlation analysis between the variables. The results of the research showed that the companies studied have at least one (1) Corporate Governance body. Within the companies studied there are two components that are related to each other and that correspond to both variables and these are: generational level (durability), organizational structure, organizational manuals (corporate governance). There is an incidence of corporate governance in the durability of the family businesses studied in the city of Barranquilla.
