Abstract
Taking into account the theory of planned behavior, a prediction is made of the intention to perform environmental practices in workers of a chemical supplies company, located in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. Sixty-three of the 112 workers that belonged to the company's operational area were selected as sample, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the investigation. The scale for the measurement of environmental practices (EMPA) was used which is an instrument designed with 35 items to measure the variables of the study, giving as result a Cronbach's alpha of 0.875. It was found that there is a moderate positive correlation between environmental practices and model variables; Attitude and subjective norm predicted better the intention, while, behavioral control turned out to be a little significant variable in the prediction of the behavioral intention of the workers.
