Conocimiento pedagógico matemático para el desarrollo cognitivo y metacognitivo

Abstract

El presente estudio determina la correlación del conocimiento pedagógico del docente con el desarrollo de procesos cognitivos y metacognitivos de las matemáticas, fundamentado en un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño correlacional. La muestra está integrada por docentes y estudiantes de básica primaria. Se aplicaron entrevistas y cuestionarios; sus resultados indican que el conocimiento pedagógico de los docentes y procesos metacognitivos se relacionan de manera significativa; sin embargo, con los procesos cognitivos no existe tal relación, lo cual podría estar asociado a que los docentes centran su didáctica en el desarrollo de habilidades superiores sin profundizar en la comprensión e interpretación de conceptos.

The present study determines the correlation of the pedagogical knowledge of the teacher with the development of cognitive and metacognitive processes of mathematics. Based on a quantitative approach, with a correlational design. The sample is made up of teachers and primary school students. Interviews and questionnaires were applied. The results indicate that the pedagogical knowledge of teachers and metacognitive processes are significantly related; however, with cognitive processes there is no such relationship, which could be associated with teachers focusing their didactics on the development of higher skills without deepening in the understanding and interpretation of concepts.
