Asociación de las dimensiones de funcionalidad familiar y práctica de cutting

Abstract

In the present investigation, the relationship between the dimensions of family functionality proposed by the circumplex model with the practice of the cutting in a sample of adolescents from 12 years old to 18 years old, belonging to two public schools of the municipality of Soledad - Atlántico was analyzed. To achieve this objective, the quantitative method of non-experimental design, the correlational scope of transverse temporality, and the type of convenience sampling were used. The following instruments were used to collect the data: Scale of Adaptability and Family Cohesion (FACES III), and the Parental-Adolescent Communication Scale (PACS) in its dimensions: Communication of the adolescent with the mother and communication of the adolescent the father. As results, it was found that there is a statistically significant relationship between the variables of cohesion and practice of cutting, the variables of adaptability, communication with the father and the mother are not related to the practice of cutting in adolescents between 12 and 18 years belonging to the two public educational institutions of the municipality of Soledad - Atlántico. According to the results obtained in this study, it was possible to conclude that family cohesion is a risk factor for self-injurious practice in adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age

En la presente investigación se analizó la relación entre las dimensiones de funcionalidad familiar propuestas en el modelo circumplejo, con la práctica de cutting en población adolescente entre 12 y 18 años pertenecientes a dos instituciones educativas públicas del municipio de Soledad – Atlántico. Para la consecución de este objetivo se empleó el método cuantitativo de diseño no experimental, con alcance correlacional a temporalidad transversal, y tipo de muestreo por conveniencia. Se utilizó para la recolección de los datos los siguientes instrumentos de medición: escala de Adaptabilidad y Cohesión Familiar (FACES III) y la Escala de Comunicación Padres-Adolescentes (PACS) en sus dimensiones: comunicación del adolescente con respecto a la madre y comunicación del adolescente con respecto al padre. Como resultados, se evidenció una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la variable de cohesión y la práctica de cutting, las variables de adaptabilidad, comunicación con el padre y la madre no se muestran relacionadas con la práctica del cutting en los adolescentes entre 12 y 18 años pertenecientes a las dos instituciones educativas públicas del municipio de Soledad – Atlántico. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos en el estudio fue posible concluir que la cohesión familiar es un factor de riesgo para la práctica auto lesiva en los adolescentes entre 12 -18 años
