Global organizations are at the expectation of acquiring management skills, to adapt to competitive markets, where accompanying people and taking on new challenges, becomes part of business strategies. In this regard, the research sought to determine the leadership in small and medium-sized enterprises in the industry and commerce sector of the city of Barranquilla. Epistemologically it is limited within the quantitative paradigm, descriptive and field type, transectional design, descriptive analysis. For data collection, the survey technique was used using a questionnaire structured by (42) items, with an ordinal scale, validated by 10 experts in the area, with a reliability of 0.94r, determined through the Cronbach Alpha method, being highly reliable, applied to 60 Managers of SMEs study subject. The results show that leadership in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the industry and commerce sector was classified as moderate. It is concluded that the dimension emerging approaches was the most affected, followed by the leadership styles, the dimension with the highest score was the levels of leadership.
