This graduation project was to determine the relationship between the variables of the
model of planned behavior exhibited by Azjen and Madden in 1986 (used in environmental
psychology) and environmental practices of a company located in the city of Barranquilla,
Colombia. To achieve this in the first instance variables depending on model practices were
characterized, then the relationship between the variables of the model was established to reach
the model variables correlate with the studied environmental practices: water conservation, waste
management solid and chemical waste management. It was selected for the research, 63 workers
of the operational area of the company, selected by probabilistic sampling, volunteer
participants. All research participants were men, aged 18 and 57 years old. Data were collected
through estructured questionnaire designed for the project, with 35 items and an interview. The
main results were evidenced: when the characterization was done, it was found that the standard
Variable subjective was the one who had the highest favorability with 4.34 compared to 4.32 and
3.82 of attitude and behavioral control respectively. Attitude variable was the variable with the
highest correlations against environmental practices. It was also found that subjective norm
explains 47% of changes in attitude (and back again), this being the strong relationship between
the variables. Attitude explains 44% of the variations in behavioral control (and back again). and
the less strong relationship between variables was between subjective norm and behavioral
control with a 0.259.
