Evaluación del comportamiento de los bioaerosoles fúngicos en el área de influencia de la estación de calidad del aire ubicada en el parque Tres Ave María de Barranquilla, Atlántico

Acosta Mercado, Paula Andrea | 2019
An aeromicological study was carried out to evaluate the behavior of fungal bioaerosols in
the area of influence of Tres Ave María Park (Barranquilla). For the above, the CFU/m3
concentrations were determined, the taxa present were identified and their correlation with
the meteorological variables and some atmospheric pollutants (PM10, PM2,5 and SO2) was
evaluated. Sampling was carried out between January and June 2019, using a viable 6-stage
Andersen type cascade impactor with Sabouraud Dextrosa agar. The highest and lowest
concentrations of fungi were observed in March and January, respectively. The
predominant fungi that were present in the study period were Penicillium and Aspergillus.
Regarding Pearson's correlational analysis of fungal bioaerosol concentrations, a significant
statistical correlation (p-value <0,05) was obtained with solar radiation; while wind
direction and speed, temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure did not show
statistically significant correlation (p-value> 0,05). Likewise, the air pollutants evaluated
(PM10, PM2.5 and SO2) did not show a significant statistical correlation. Finally, it was
found that the highest concentrations of bioaerosols occurred in stages 5 and 6 of the
sampler, whose particle sizes are related to the terminal bronchial tubes (1,1 – 2,1 µm) and
pulmonary alveoli (0,6 - 1,1 µm)
