The present research aims to establish the impact of institutional accreditation on the
strengthening of infrastructure factors and academic support resources in higher education
institutions in the Caribbean region of Colombia. Its purpose is to establish the impact of
institutional accreditation seen from the academic resource and physical infrastructure, that have
produced in the Universities of the North of the city of Barranquilla and the Technological
University of Bolivar located in the city of Cartagena de Indias, and evidence the
competitiveness that institutions of higher education acquire and their visibility in the region and
the country. This research has a qualitative approach because it relies on observable phenomena,
studying its reality and quantitative by using representative statistical data to establish patterns of
behavior, the chosen population are universities that have high quality accreditation In the
Caribbean region and, establishing a documentary review from the statistical bulletins found on
their web pages, and by selecting the undergraduate student population, academic resources and
the physical infrastructure. According to the objectives set, we hoping to show the relationship
between the increase of the student population with processes of acquisition and improvement of
academic resources and physical infrastructure. The research is possible to execute it thanks to
technological resources like the internet search engines
