This Master’s document is based in one of the variables in a microclimate: The wind flow in an urban site and how the trees influence it. The study cases or configurations, modeled with the computational program GAMBIT, include two street canyon types, two building types and the trees with different dimensions, shapes and LAD (Leaf area Index) and the near environment. The wind flow in the different configurations are simulated with the computational pro - gram FLUENT. The numerical simulation of two situations, one without trees and the one other with trees, enables to compare the trees zone impact over the wind flow. The wind speed analysis in the different points of the street canyon, indicate that the tree in - duce either a wind speed increase, or a wind speed reduction. The effects due to the trees influence are observed in the street canyons oriented parallely to the dominant wind flow. In the street canyons oriented perpendicularly to the dominant wind flow, the effects observed are due directly to the building’s geometry. Finally, a discomfort conditions’ approach due to the wind flow from the mechanic point of view reveal the susceptible zones to develop the streamlines anomalies that can be uncomfortable for the pedestrians, but that they can be corrected with the simple ways of control from the speed field.eng
