Correlación entre el límite líquido y el índice de compresibilidad en las arcillas del Distrito de Barranquilla

Abstract

Generally when there appears a public or private initiative to realize a civil work, there is established a timetable of activities where initially a detailed soils study needs from itself the achievement of several preliminary studies, inside which it appears in particular. This soils study, it always subdivides in several aspects, inside which the calculation of the establishments turns out to be of big importance from the same moment of beginning of works until many years after finished. For the determination of the establishments it becomes necessary to obtain parameters as the index of compressibility, which decides from a consolidation essay. It is necessary to emphasize that this is a long and costly essay. The man across the history, has looked for the way of minimizing the expense of the time and of the money, and the processes ingenieriles have not been the exception. The man in its emulation, has penetrated in investigations that allow him to obtain the parameters of calculation, of an easy and rapid way, leading it to postulating mathematical models where two or more variables are correlated.

Generalmente cuando se plantea una iniciativa pública o privada de realizar una obra civil, se establece un cronograma de actividades en donde inicialmente se requiere la realización de varios estudios preliminares, dentro de los cuales figura en particular, un detallado estudio de suelos. Este estudio de suelos, siempre se subdivide en varios aspectos, dentro de los cuales el cálculo de los asentamientos resulta ser de gran importancia desde el mismo momento de iniciación de obras hasta muchos años después de terminada. Para la determinación de los asentamientos se hace necesario obtener parámetros como el índice de compresibilidad, el cual se determina a partir de un ensayo de consolidación. Cabe destacar que este es un ensayo largo y costoso. El hombre a través de la historia, ha buscado la manera de minimizar el gasto del tiempo y del dinero, y los procesos ingenieriles no han sido la excepción. El hombre en su afán, se ha adentrado en investigaciones que le permitan obtener los parámetros de cálculo, de una manera fácil y rápida, llevándolo a postular modelos matemáticos en donde se correlacionan dos o más variables.
