Abstract
Strategic thought is analized and its impact upon business reality and management of neighborhood grocery stores in colombia. Explicative investigation of constrast, analysis, quali- quantitative. Non experimental design. Methodological Triangulation Method (MTM), allowed result analysis among methods, theories and statistical techniques. The application of a questionnaire on a 4500 grocery store population. Sector is contextulized by displacement of supermarkets and translationals. Direct Competitors are not this ones, but the grocery stores in surrounding areas. Suggestions made are focused on strategy's definition and choice making focused in strategic thought to counteract any threats.
