De la democracia a la aretecracia: origen, evolución y universalización
From democracy to the aretecracia: origin, evolution and universalization
Abstract
This article examines a theoretical idea of origin, evolution and universalization of democracy called aretecracy that implies qualified democracy with a high ethical component. The methodology used is a documentary and bibliographical review with critical analysis, by which it discusses the evolution of democracy to its universalization and presents the concept of aretecracy and its pre-qualification proposal to which any aspirant must be submitted to represent the people with suitability. It is concluded that aretecracy provides legal-political tools that guarantee the "must-be" of democracy and prevent its deformation in plutocracy and/or ochlocracy.
