Abstract
Thisresearch is based on the development of a proposal for an inte-grated sustainable urban transport system on a metropolitan scale in Barranquilla and a metropolitan node model for the Municipality of Malambo (Colombia). The Metropolitan Area of Barraquilla (AMBQ) in terms of mobility and transport cannot absorb the population that en-ters it every day from the dormitory municipalities, the inefficiency of real public transport leads to a progressive increase in the vehicle fleet, increase in informal transport, increase in travel times, etc.. In order to improve the problem situation the territory is diagnosed applying the Bruce Archer methodology known as Systemic Method and ba-sed on the bibliographic and field information collected an integrated mobility system is designed composed of intermodal and multimodal transport nodes strategically in the study area. The applied design is based on the experiences of metropolitan systems of international transport as in the case of the Metropolitan Region of Santiago de Chile and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and national references as the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley.
