Abstract
This paper intends to make a documentary review of research carried out on the preparation to demonstrate the importance of this process at the beginning of the reading and allow an adequate academic performance, it was observed that the consequences of the lack of training are reflected in all contexts from countries where research was conducted. The studies reviewed allowed to verify the improvement of the reading process and of the academic performance of the students after an adequate process of training.
