In this paper we conducted a comparative study of Colombian standards for Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction, in 1998 and NSR-98 in 2010 NSR10 (Act 400 of 1997 and its implementing regulations), focused on the design and structural construction with frame system, and other important aspects that relate to the structural results of each of the standards in the same geographical space and time.
When a project or carry out a construction site is very important to the structural design to ensure efficient behavior when some factors may lead to instability, which can be, for reasons dimensions, geological and winds.
This project is presented a comparison between the NSR and NSR-98-10, to design earthquake resistant structures, types of structures developed in this project are typically used in our country, and presents the advantages and disadvantages can be taken into account when determining what type of structure that best meets the general conditions of the project.
To put in perspective the last two updates in earthquake-resistant standards, analyzing a structure identical geometric characteristics and then analyze the results between the NSR and the NSR-98-10, highlighting the most significant aspects thrown by these designs.
