AbstractThe IEC 61439 is a standard defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) guided to optimizing the production and functioning of low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assembly system. The IEC 61439 is applicable to installations in low-voltage to 1000 Vac or 1500 V for direct current, and seeks to secure the safety of the installation and humans. As the object of this paper is to implement a design guide, clear and detailed steps for a qualified person who knows the subject, the technical development before his fabrication. The development of this design guide part of the validation of the strength of materials and corrosion considerations due to the properties of insulating materials , resistance to lifting, mechanical impact, validation IP degrees protection and electromagnetic compatibility. This document presents guidelines for the design development boards, presenting the procedure according to the characteristics of the assembly to be manufactured , considering the technical data of the functional units to the respective physical layout within the enclosure, complying with the requirements of temperature rise, resistance to short-circuit, dielectric properties and other aspects important established by the standard IEC 61439.
