pH, Conductividad, Salinidad, Alcalinidad, Fosfatos, Detergente, DQO y DBO5.
que mostro un mejor comportamiento The development of a functional prototype type filter, proposed in this document, is
constituted by a system installed to filter and purify gray water so that later it can be used in the
agricultural sector, in the present investigation the filter was built and implemented analyzing the
water resulting from the evaluation of some parameters such as pH, Conductivity, Salinity,
Alkalinity, Phosphates, Detergent, COD and BOD5.
The materials used for the construction of the filter were a plastic bottle, sand, activated
carbon, gravel, cotton and wadding. Subsequently, a characterization of the influent and effluent
waters used in the prototype was carried out, collecting domestic water samples to which certain
physical chemical parameters were determined such as pH, conductivity, salinity, alkalinity,
detergents, phosphates, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand
(BOD5).
The average results obtained after characterizing the filtered gray water showed a pH of 5.46
units, the conductivity presented an average value of 3350 μS / cm, the salinity was 2.3 ppt, the
alkalinity was 1020 mg CaCO3 / L, the phosphates conserved a level close to 1.06 mg Ptotal / L,
the detergent concentration was approximately 2.82 mg / L, the COD decreased to a value close
to 292 mg O / L and the BOD5 was reduced around 160.33 mg O / L.
With this project it was possible to conclude that the built filter is a tool that can be used in
the agricultural sector, due to the high removal capacity in some of the parameters determined
among which the COD and BOD5 with high levels of removal with percentages stood out of 80
and 88% respectively; also taking into account the variations of the samples analyzed it was also
possible to establish that the filtered gray water was the one that showed a better behavior.
