Comparative analysis on the indicators from Latin American countries with more scientific paper publications in the SIR Iber 2020

The SIR Iber highlights the geographical location of Ibero-American universities by positioning them according to the indicators grouped into three main factors: research, innovation and social impact. The 2020 edition highlights the formation of three groups of countries according to the production capacity of higher education institutions. In group 1 we have: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia as Latin American countries that managed to publish more than 60,000 papers in the period 2014-2018. This paper analyzes and compares the indicators from the five (05) Latin American countries in group 1 of the SIR Iber 2020 referring to investment in I+S as a percentage of its Gross Domestic Product (PIB), the number of full-time equivalent researchers (Inv JCE), the production (%) of scientific works in the university education sector, to name a few. A conglomerate formed with the Normalized Impact (NI) of public and private IESs is presented, regarding the global average of citation, with the data published in the SIR IBER 2020 Report, and highlights that Chile has a normalized impact above the World average for both public and private IES publications. El SIR Iber destaca la ubicación geográfica de las universidades iberoamericanas posicionándolas según los indicadores agrupados en tres factores principales: investigación, innovación e impacto social. La edición 2020 destaca la formación de tres grupos de países según la capacidad de producción de las instituciones de educación superior. En el grupo 1 tenemos a: Brasil, México, Chile, Argentina y Colombia como países de América Latina que lograron publicar más de 60.000 artículos en el período 2014-2018. Este trabajo analiza y compara los indicadores de los cinco (05) países latinoamericanos del grupo 1 del SIR Iber 2020 referentes a la inversión en I + S como porcentaje de su Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), el número de equivalentes a tiempo completo investigadores (Inv JCE), la producción (%) de trabajos científicos en el sector de la educación universitaria, por nombrar algunos. Se presenta un conglomerado formado con el Impacto Normalizado (IN) de IES públicas y privadas, respecto al promedio global de citación, con los datos publicados en el Informe SIR IBER 2020, y se destaca que Chile tiene un impacto normalizado por encima del promedio mundial para ambos Publicaciones IES públicas y privadas.
